You have had your carpets cleaned. Will your “clean” carpets re-soil quickly from then on? This will not happen if the carpet has been properly cleaned. If you use a product with a PH of 10 or over on new nylon carpet you will break down the acid dye blockers, permanently damaging the carpet and causing it to prematurely re-soil.

Tom Cooley, the Stainologist, of C & H Carpet and Furniture Cleaning Fort Collins is trained and certified by the Clean Trust. The Clean Trust, formerly IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification) is a not for profit liaison between carpet manufacturers and carpet cleaners to train and certify carpet cleaners.

If you do not use a Clean Trust certified carpet cleaner, you can void the warranty on your new carpets. It pays to know the qualifications of your carpet cleaner. The best method of carpet cleaning is steam or hot water extraction. It is the only one endorsed by all carpet manufacturers. A pre-spray, cleaning agent, is sprayed onto the carpet. That product emulsifies, or breaks down the soil to free it from the fibers. This is then rinsed out with a steam or hot water rinse using a truck mounted steam extraction machine. An acid based rinsing agent is also added to the rinse to balance the PH and insure that all the pre-spray is removed and the carpet is residue free.

Please use our contact form to set up an appointment for your carpet and furniture cleaning needs. http://thestainologist.com/contact/

This week is once again coffee week! Two separate spills (so far). The first one was in an office, and the janitorial staff was not able to remove it. This can sometimes make my job much more difficult, but no worries, the stain was successfully removed by The Stainologist! The second was actually in my home. My wife tripped on the stairs with a full cup, but once again… completely removed by your truly!
